Turkey Claims Recording Showing Khashoggi Murder
Turkey has claimed to have a recording proving that missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi was killed after being tortured in Istanbul’s Saudi consulate.
Jamal Khashoggi went missing last week after entering the Saudi consulate. Mr. Khashoggi was a journalist who had been a critic of the Saudi government, and his disappearance has been a cause of unification of much of the world, and even the Congress of the United States, against any foul play by the Saudi government.
Turkey has allowed CRTV video of Mr. Khashoggi entering the consulate to be played on TV, and further claims to have recordings of the supposed murder.
A source has told Washington Post, for which Jamal Khashoggi was a contributor, that, “You can hear his voice and the voices of the men speaking Arabic. You can hear how he was interrogated, tortured and then murdered.” Journalist Kemal Ozturk claimed earlier this week that video of Mr. Khashoggi being murdered was in existence.
Related to these claims, video supposedly showing Saudi intelligence officers entering and leaving Turkey has emerged, and Turkey has identified a 15-man team that was allegedly involved in the murder of Mr. Khashoggi.
