Facts Don’t Lie #2: No, The Trump Administration Has Not Lost 1500 Children And Are Not Ripping Children Away From Their Families.

You have most likely heard from the mainstream media giants such as MSNBC, CNN, or possibly the New York Times that the racist and bigot filled Trump Administration are taking away unaccompanied alien children, or UACs, from their family. If that is so, continue reading.

Chris Hayes, a host on MSNBC, was live on air when he blew a story from the New York Times out of proportion, saying this: “Last month, the New York Times reported HHS lost track of nearly 1,500 migrant children placed with sponsors of more than 7,000 unaccompanied minors. Of course, those are minors who come without parents- who cross the border. That’s 1500 children lost by the government.”

That claim by both Hayes and the New York Times is false. Here’s why: unaccompanied children arrive at the border and are stopped by Border Patrol. Once they’re processed, they are then handed over to the Office of Refugee Resettlement. Afterwards, the children are consigned with their sponsors, who are required to be related to them, whether blood related or a parental guardian.

The vast majority of sponsors are illegal, making the matter of the unaccompanied alien child even worse. Since the sponsor and the UAC do not want to be deported, they then move locations in order to escape their child’s court date and so that immigration agencies, such as Immigration Customs Enforcement and Customs for Border Patrol, are unable to know their locality.

For these reasons, the government is not ‘losing kids’ as Chris Hayes claimed so. The truth of the matter is that unaccompanied minors and their sponsors are deliberately not staying put.

In fact, this is not a Trump Administration policy. This was occurring under then- President Obama. A piece from a CBS article in February of 2016 debunks the false narrative of how this began under Trump:

“Finding immigrant children with outstanding deportation orders is also complicated by the fact that they often are no longer at the addresses provided to the government.”

Adding on to that, then- ICE agent and now Acting ICE Director Tom Homan said,

“We are out looking,” Homan said. “But they are hard to find. A lot of these folks who don’t show up in court, we don’t know where they’re at.”

Predictably enough, there was no outrage from the left in 2016 when Obama’s HHS and CBP officials were ACTUALLY losing children. The Trump Administration has placed a little over 16,000 children with sponsors this fiscal year.

The Obama Administration placed 52,000 children in FY2014 with sponsors, and with his weak immigration stance, less than 6% of home visits were conducted.

However, the most recent bogusness has come from the notion that the Trump Admin is ‘ripping children away from their mothers’ at the border. This claim is also false. Let’s break down the facts.

On April 7 of 2018, President Trump ended the Obama era policy named ‘catch-and-release’, a policy “which allowed immigrants who entered the US illegally are released from detention while awaiting a court hearing on their status.” Due to this, over 19,723 illegal immigrants were caught by immigration officials, and then released back into the United States. 208 were convicted of murder, over 900 were convicted of sex crimes, and 12,307 were arrested due to drunk driving.

What this created was an opportunity for adults who crossed the border with children to be designated a court date and finally sent away. Before you know it, many illegal aliens exploit the system and do not show up for their given date and time to settle their legal case in court.

The legality of this, however, is strict due to leftist states like California. According to the Department of Homeland Security, the Flores Agreement is the key component to the false pretext Trump has been accused of creating.

“Under the Flores Agreement, DHS can only detain UACs for 20 days before releasing them to the Department of Health and Human Services which places the minors in foster or shelter situations until they locate a sponsor.”

Yet, the government is allowed to arrest an adult, and that’s what the majority of America is misunderstanding. This assists to discourage the family unit from crossing the border unlawfully, while at the same time keeping children incarcerated with other adults in a detention center.

A photo was posted by liberal media outlet NowThis of two girls sleeping in immigration detention centers and ‘proving the cruelty of the Trump Administration’. The picture was taken in 2014, the 2nd year of the Obama Administration.

This is not rocket science, simply put. Obama’s slapdash immigration policies result in thousands of undocumented youth being packed into warehouses most likely infested with contagions.

What is disgraceful is that there was plainly no outrage when the Obama Administration placed unaccompanied alien children with human traffickers? These are people who make use of children to turn them into slaves. It’s the identity politics being utilized by the left because Donald Trump is now President.

You care about dehumanizing President Trump instead of these children. Not true? It’s proven because the mainstream media had zero minutes of airtime about stories mentioned above.

Unreal.
