Oakland Mayor Elizabeth Schaaf sent emails to businesses with illegal immigrants before ICE raids.
Late February of 2018, Oakland Mayor Elizabeth Schaaf sent an alarming email to business owners who employ illegal aliens that Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers were going to be raiding certain areas of the Bay Area detaining illegal immigrants.
The email reads, “Important Alert! Credible information ICE Raids in Oakland Sunday 2/25 and Monday 2/26″. This message was sent to the Oakland Indie Alliance, a group of businesses employing a number of illegal immigrants. The message ends, “This information comes directly from the Mayor.” You can find the list of businesses in this link.
Schaaf’s emails also reveal she was directly in contact with local open borders group Centro Legal de la Raza, which helps illegal aliens get attorneys to avoid deportations.
In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said him and the Department of Justice were going to consider prosecuting the Oakland Mayor for obstruction of justice. “I believe that the mayor made a colossal error in her statement that placed the safety of our federal law officers at risk, and that increased the likelihood that hundreds of serious criminals would avoid arrest and continue to remain on our streets, posing a risk to the people of the Bay Area. And we are in communication with [Acting ICE] Director [Thomas] Homan, and we look forward to reviewing the facts as they present them to our attorneys. But I couldn’t comment beyond that.”
Out of the 800 illegal immigrants that escape, many of them were convicted criminals, charged with sex crimes, DUIs, and armed robbery.
